Black Guillemot |

This small guillemot spends most of its time inshore. It likes to nest�among boulders�where it utters a high whistling sound of alarm. Black Guillemots never venture far from the breeding place. In Spitsbergen the manage to stay around the shore most winters thanks to the Atlantic drift which keeps the ice at bay.
